I would think yes, I know it sprety dumb now, but imagine finishing Crysis and getting 200 GP just for doing it, you feel a little happier than you would just getting the final cinematic.Poll: Will PC gamers play for achievemen ...
I completelly hate the whole achievements idea!
It takes somehow takes the fun from the game to make it a ''Look at me I'm Coolzorz'' experience...
So as a PC gamer, I say hell no >_>Poll: Will PC gamers play for achievemen ...
Since PC games will never be unified, then no.
And no, I wouldn't play them even if there was some way all pc games used the system.
I personally wouldnę°, there pointless imo. If I wish to prove how skilled I am at a game then the best way to do that would be to join a clan or create one and apply for a league.
Its not about provinb things, or getting respect.
Its more of the line, of just achieving something in a game.
its nice to get points for beating a game on diferetn level settings.

I'm a PC gamer, own a 360 and love Achievements. They add more depth to a game by adding specific challenges with a reward. Not only that but they add replay value to games that ordinarily wouldn't have it.
Well sure, you can randomly do the achievements anyway. But isn't it nice to have a little ping and trophy and a ''Well Done!'' after doing a random hard/fun task?

I tend to completely ignore any ''achievement'' system, whether it's steam, GFWL, or in-game achievements.Frankly, achievements are useless, and I'm not so shallow that I need a pop-up message to tell me I've achieved something, I'll decide that on my own, thank you.
No. the only good achivements in a game are ones that actualy unlock in game items... such as getting achivements in TF2 to unlock new weapons... if all its gonna do is have a well done trophy pop up on my screen i really dont give a crap...
No, achievements are a virtual pat in the back.. Thats it.. If they don't add anything, they are useless..

The whole problem with achievement is that dev think that the player will be busy enought getting his stupid points that they don't need to add more content. I hope they never appear widely on pc. Valve tried, but I think it failed, I mean nobody care about hl2 achievement, people only care about tf2 because they can unlock weapon.
well for me achievements seem like a waste of time...in gears theres achievements that I have yet get...but its not like i set out to get them all..if I get one its because its just happened..that's all..like I said i find them meaningless
just wondering: the battlefield medals, ribons etc are counted as achievements right?

They're nothing more than transient challenges that could be completed on your own dime. All you're doing is having fake points with no redeemable value for things you could have already been doing in the game. Theres nothing stopping you from trying to kill millions of soldiers, or go thorugh a game with only the melee weapon. (GO SYSTEM SHOCK 2!) They don't add depth to a game at all.
