MS Avatar = Fail

In response to sony home= Fail thread, How are the ms avatars any better? Iown a 360 and am excited for the dashboard but i see people saying home will suck blah blah blah, well what are the avatarsoffering? I know its not being delayed but who cares! I see people saying home is rippingoff second life, but isn't MS avatars rippingoff Mii's?MS Avatar = Fail
Home and Avatars are both similar in that they are A) Optional and B) Interesting to some.I am sure that those who hate the idea of them will likely be the most into the services when they are out.MS Avatar = Fail

If anything it's an answer to Miis, it has nothing to do with Home. The fantastic features that are being brought in (that you conviently chose to ignore in this topic) would be the competition for home, not that they have anything to compete with as Home isn't out, has no release date and has features being removed from it.

Yeah, I was LIVID when I first heard about the avatars. I was under the impression it was being forced on us, and immediately started a diatribe calling the Wii everything under the sun for bringing us to this. Then, I found out it was optional, and my blood pressure eased off considerably. :DI get what M$ is doing with this, and as long as it doesnt affect me, and I am not forced to make one, I have little to argue against it. But yeah, I despise them with every fiber of my being.

the new XBL experience has a lot more than those silly avatars...and I agree the avs are not that great

The funny thing is Sony announced Home a few years ago and it has yet to arrive. Microsoft announed avatars a few months ago and it will launch next month. Sony announed Killzone 2 back in 2005 and it's still not out yet. During that time Microsoft will launch Gears of War 1 %26 2.

Its an outside application your being asked to use so as to get comprehensive menus and party systems and chat, where as with 360 i can do all that within the interface all ready.

who would wanna start a seperate application to do things?
