Like many of you, Ive been a console gamer for a very long time. For many many years my main hobby has been playing the best that videogames have to offer. I dont mean to be prestigious but i have owned more than one console throughout past generations, snes, genesis, n64, dreamcast, ps1%262. My point is, it was always crutial to own all the consoles if you wanted to play all the coolest games, each console had huge huge huge libraries of exclusive games that made them a must have. That is, up untill now....I bought an xbox360 at launch, and started playing all the new games right away and I remember looking in forums and reading in magazines of the ps3 and how amazing it is, and ow its exclusive titles with change the very fabric of my life. Well the system came out a few years ago, and to my, and your (most likely), disappointment, I am still waiting on a good reason to own one. Price is a non issue, we all know new tech. costs money I remember my n64 was 300$. The fact of the matter is that the ps3 just offers nothing, and i mean absolutely nothing that i cant do on an xbox 360, Its not like the ps3 is the only way i could of played powerstone back in the day like on my dreamcast, or sonic 3 like on my genesis, or final fantasy 7 like on my ps1. Wether anyone wants to admit it or not, with the way that the videogame market is now with multiplatform games being the dominant driving force in combination with the abysmal exclusive lineups on the ps3 compaired with 360, owning a playstation is superfluous if you already have a 360 and if a ps3 is all you have, then your gaming experience is truly limited. I love where videogames are going these days, online play, achievements, downloadable constent, etc etc. and the xbox 360 hands down is the leader in all of these department. It just works better than ps3, there is just more content, more options, and more fun to be had on a 360 than a ps3 period. the main point of my argument is that never before in my life as a console gamer has the importance of owning both rival consoles of a generation ever been so nonexistant. every generation before this one there have been CRUTIAL games, options, and features that make owning both a necessity. However the only console that i would say NEEDS to be owned this gen is a 360?we could break down the list of exclusives, and some of you will say hey this game X is totally worth the price of a ps3? but the fact of the matter is that realistically... its not... its not out yet.... and from the looks of it that magical game thats going to blow my mind on the ps3 is just not coming.PS3 is unquestionably disappointing...
Im glad I was younger and not addicted to GS when Sony were overhyping the PS3, then it might have been a dissapointment to me. I PS3 is unquestionably disappointing...
I kinda agree with you, but the same could definitely be said for the 360 as well. But as the cows continue to tell us........Just wait.
I'm not disappointed in it, I probably use mine more than my 360. The lack of RPG's and delays are disappointing though.
Nah, I don't find it dissapointing at all.It could certainly do with some JRPG's, though.
I disagree with your opinion, want a cookie?
Put the ps3 in place of your 360 in that paragraph and that is my argument. Why do I need a 360? I don't and realized that once I had one for a week. Pairing a ps3 and a pc you have the best of both worlds, sorry but most ps3 exclusives are actuall exclusives while most of the 360's are on the pc aswell. And actually the exclusives for the 360 are next to none unless you count rpg's which I don't play, so only one that had any impact on my purchase of a 360 for that week was Gears and well it disappointed me after playing games like Rfom, Mgs4, R%26C, Uncharted. So part 2 has no impact on me so there is literally nothing on the 360 that appeals to me. Besides Huxley and once again it will be on the pc and at that time I'll upgrade my pc to run it like it supposed to be played. So I think everyone can state that for either console, but once again ps3 exclusives are normally actuall exclusives and not only console, or timed exclusive.
you state it as a FACT when it is just your OPINION, and I respect that. but for me, I had my cousin's 360 for 3 months, and I was disappointed. games like Gears, Mass Effect, BioShock etc, I found those utterly boring, not saying they are bad games, just not for me. I had more fun with XBLA games. other than Banjo and Ninja Gaiden 2, X360 does not have any game that I want to play.
As a media centre is awesomebut as a games player, and although i have only had one for 4 months, i feel the games side of things is very slow
I disagree with your opinion, want a cookie?
I disagree with your disagreement. TC is correct, 360 and ps3 are close, but 360 has more to offer, and having a ps3 is fine, but you get more out of the 360 right now.

How would you know what each individual gets out of either the PS3 or 360? You're making a blanket statement you can't back up.
''abysmal exclusive lineups on the ps3 compaired with 360''Lost all credibility right there.

Only one system has superior online play while the other is still waiting for a standardized mic, only ONE system has achievements for every game since its launch, ONLY ONE SYSTEM offers the BETTER VERSIONS of multiplat games, ONLY ONE SYSTEM offers superior exclusive games as of now. Dont overlook the online experiences between these two systems.. please believe... THEY ARE NOT EQUAL.As far as your argument regarding all this PC nonsense, you clearly committed another fallacy by overlooking that ive been talking about CONSOLES. Look if you want to put up with all the piracy, and the constant upgrades, and the bugs, and the crashes and the errors, PC gaming is wicked fun. but thats not even anywhere close to anything in my argument. if we are compairing cars, and i say this car can beat that car, you briging in a PC would be like me arbitrarilly bringing in a boat and saying how it can travel too. Im sure it can, but were not talking about boats....or pcs.
I'm not disappointed with my PS3, not the slightest bit.
Compared to PS2 it sucks. Compared to 360 it's inferior. By itself it's a good console. Compared to Wii it rocks :P
''abysmal exclusive lineups on the ps3 compaired with 360''Lost all credibility right there
Whats not abysmal about heavenly sword, uncharted, resistance 1 , warhawk, motor storm There either mediocre games worth one playthrough on normal, or they are a multiplayer game that lacks the consistancy, communication, and connectivity of xbox live. if you set your standards low enough im sure you will eventually blow them away. but you dont even have a standardized mic yet. meanwhile ill be playing better versions of multiplats online

lets get something strait. I never said ps3 was bad. I am just arguing that never have i ever seen two rival console systems so unequally matched. one of them has all the multiplats, more and better exclusives, unrivaled online play... the other one is a bluray player with mandatory installs, no standard mic, inferior multiplats, and no (ZERO) memorable games this generation. The contrast between superiority and inferiority have never been this clear.NEVER!snes vs genesis. they both rocked. n64 vs ps..... dreamcast and ps2.... ps2 and xbox..... They were all worth having, they all had something to them. But now when console features are overlapping, like multiplayer and achievements etc it makes it more unneccesary to own the weaker of the 2 (the play station triple)

But I agree it doesn't match the 360.
the ps3 hasnt dissapointed me much at all, same as the ps2 and ps1. the only complaint i have is that it doesnt have any good rpgs worth pickin up, but since ff7 all rpgs have been lousy imo so that's not a big deali only have 3 games, gta4 mgs4 and oblivion but they are more then enough to keep me busy. cant wait to pick up R1, R2 and LBP though
