3D sonic game compilation: Are 3D sonic ...

let us look at past 3D Sonic gamesalot of these games are multiplat, but i have choosen the version that got the best score to give Sonic the benefit of the doubt
 • Sonic Jam (Saturn) - 5.9 = the bad start
 • Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn) - 7.0 = the upward battle
 • Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast) - 9.2 = the high spike
 • Sonic Adventure 2 (Dreamcast) - 8.6 = the downward slope
 • Sonic Shuffle (Dreamcast) - 4.5 = the first nail
 • Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (Gamecube) - 6.8 = The dawn of medocre ports
 • Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut (Gamecube) - 5.7 = The end of horrible ports
 • Sonic Heroes (Gamecube) - 7.5 = the beginning of original medium grade games
 • Sonic Rush (DS) - 8.2 = a glimer of hope
 • Shadow the Headgehog (Gamecube) - 4.8 = The second Nail
 • Sonic Rivals (PSP) - 6.9 = another mediocre game
 • Sonic The Headgehog (360) - 4.4 = The third nail
 • Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii) - ??? = the possible savior?
From what i can tell, a good sonic game comes between the medocre and bad ones... Sonic Rush was the last good 3D Sonic game, and that one was a 2D platformer. we shall see what Secret Rings holds in store, and if it reaches Sonic Adventure's score, it will be a leap from rock bottom, to the top of the charts. one can only hope, and read the previews3D sonic game compilation: Are 3D sonic ...

I couldn't really care less, but Sonic Jam, Sonic Shuffle and Sonic 3D aren't full out Sonic 3D games.

Sonic Jam is a compilation of 2D sonics, with just a Sonic 3D museum. Sonic 3D is a port of Sonic 3D on the MegaDrive, and Sonic Shuffle is a board game.

no, Sonic Jam was a full out- 3D game according to my ''History of Sonic'' video in my copy of Sonic Mega Collection
I loved the two Adventure games, but nothing after that has caught my attention. Good thing the 2D games are good.

Cause it's a collection of the Mega Drive Sonics: Sonic,2,3 Knuckles. It isn't a 3D game. You just control Sonic in 3D to go and pick the game to play in a small 3D world interface.

And you forgot Sonic R ''5.6''

Sonic Rush is not a 3D Sonic. It's strictly 2D, like the Sonic Advance games.

And every 3D Sonic that I've played has been disappointing on some level. Sega really needs to change things if Sonic can survive on a 3D platform. The Wii game could be just that, but who knows?
I'm not a big fan of Sonic (2D and even less so for 3D), took too much spot light from games like Ristar or NiGHTS.
I'm not a big fan of Sonic (2D and even less so for 3D), took too much spot light from games like Ristar or NiGHTS.
Worse than that is that out of all of SEGA's IP's (which I'm positive they have much, much more than Nintendo) than most people only know or care for Sonic is beyond me and turned out to be something of a blight.

I mean when Shadow the Hedgehog as awful as it was almost turned out to be a million seller, outselling Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio Future. There's just something terrible wrong.

Sonic and the Secret Rings does look pretty promising. Lets just hope that Sonic becomes a worthy title again. It's sad to see him suck. :(

It's sad to see him suck. :(
I think the problem was that even though 3D Sonic games were turning awful.(handheld 2D sonics weren't made by Sonic Team but by Dimps) They were still selling remarkably well, I think that Sonic PS3/360 will be their first financial flop Sonic, and that probably caused to smack some heads at Sonic Team and hence instead decided to actually try with the Wii version.

The only 3D Sonic I liked was SA1. :

the most of the envirnments were 2D, sonic and other characters were actually 3D rendered.

alot like NSMB for the DS
Correct, it was a compilation.
3

I couldn't really care less, but Sonic Jam, Sonic Shuffle and Sonic 3D aren't full out Sonic 3D games.
