Dpad solution for the 360...

Gamers,As a proud owner of a the 360, I will be the first to admit that the dpad completely sucks...but I stumbled on a solution that may solve the problem. As I used my 360 controller for the first time on my pc to play MAME roms (yes you can use a regular controller on the pc, after you install the drivers!!), I noticed that the dpad works perfectly on all games. So my solution to MS is RECALIBRATE THE D-PAD in the next system update. The problem is obviously driver/configuration related because I can play SFII on XBLA and cant pull off a dragon punch to save my life, while on MAME I am the dragon punch master. I encourage others to try this for themselves to experience their dpad in its full glory and also to pressure MS to fix the problem.Game On.....Dpad solution for the 360...
Pressure them how? I think the d-pad sucks physically not just electronically. It hurts your thumb after 2 minutes of using it.. The only D pad I like is the one on the classic Wii controller, its just right, but I dont use it much because only VC games use it.Dpad solution for the 360...

Meh, the d-pad isn't all that great but the rest of the controller is awesome, so I can forgive it. :D

During my tests I found myself applying too much pressure (a force of habit..). Only after I used the dpad as it was meant to be used I realized that the pad works fine using a different set of MS drivers while using MAME.Game On...
I hate the dpad on the 360 controller. That's my only quirk about it. Certainly does make it challenging to play DOA4 on. Although I hear a lot of people play DOA4 with the analog or arcade stick instead.

IMHO the hardware is fine, but if the drivers are not correct, things will not work as intended....Game On...
