I would spend the money to buy an external scaler so I could play Wii games in 720P or 1080I/P...
That's hardcore.
If I were a really hardcore Nintendo fan ...
Wouldn't that just put the poor graphics in a higher resolution? Meaning it wouldn't look very good.

Can't wii games play on a computer monitor?

...which makes absolutely no sense, as the ''really hardcore'' Nintendo fans would have been around since the NES/ Game and Watch days (ie. in their 20's or 30's).
do you, by any chance, sell tvs?

Thank You, that was so obvious, how can someone think a true hardcore Ninty guy would be a kid, at least 20 years old.

Nope, I mean, if you're a serious tech freak and a big time Nintendo fan (Sadly, they kind of lost me with the Gamecube...) I mean, I got the NES the Christmas of '85 when I was 5 years old, I've been a longtime Nintendo gamer. But really, external scalers are nothing new and used in lots of professional applications. A good $1000 scaler could probably do the graphics on the Wii real justice.
Selling TVs is close. I 'sell' movies to theater chains for Columbia/TriStar. Actually it's more like logistics, coordination and marketing. :)
