Wii could keep PS2 in business for years ...

Since developers basically have to make completely different versions of their games for the Wii, games that are technologically speaking, easily  ported to the PS2 and vice versa.

I think the Wii may be the single greatest ally to the PS2 in the years to come. Thoughts?Wii could keep PS2 in business for years ...
It makes me wonder... if that's the case, then more PS2s sold = less PS3's sold? Is that possible?Wii could keep PS2 in business for years ...
I was thinking that myself. There's a slight chance that the Wii will keep the PS2 afloat. Well, that, and poor PS3 sales...
To the people saying this would mean bad PS3 sales, PS2 games can be played on the PS3!

Yes, you can play ps2 games on ps3, but honestly, what do you rather spend? $130 for ps2 plus tons of games, or $600 for ps3 just to play ps2 games?

Though if you only wanted it for that you should buy the PS2.

Well I was merely speaking in terms of developer support, the Wii could keep the games pumping out on the PS2 as well. Which would probably keep the PS2's sales nice and steady. But I don't see how that impacts the sales of the PS3 or 360, the high-def systems have no where to go but up.

if people wanted to play cheap wii - ps2 ports, they'd buy a ps2. cheap wii ports on the ps2 would have little bearing on anyone's decision to buy a ps3.
You're right, sdifjds... but I was thinking that if the PS2 continues to get developer support, then wouldn't some people be convinced to stay with/get a PS2 instead of getting a PS3? For example... If the Xbox were still supported by developers, then I wouldn't get an Xbox 360 unless there's a game that I just MUST have, which there isn't, yet. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks like that? Because honestly, as long as a game is fun, and involving, and all that, I'll play it... although I'll admit, graphics are nice, but not that nice to make me go out and buy a whole new system. Hell, I still play my N64... Although, that's getting off-topic. Sorry.

True. The Wii is probably a reason the PS2 gets a decent amount of it's games.
